Police Captain Alain Danvers is madly in love with his new bride. But Meredith is quite a handful! When police business forces an early end to their honeymoon, Meri takes off in a rage. To earn her way back into her husband’s good graces, she’ll need to grovel at his feet. But this is just the beginning. Back at home, Meri is furious when Alain takes on the sexual training of a fellow Dominant’s newest trainee, Ella. Meri knows the girl is just a conniving faker, and she quickly succumbs to a jealous rage. A tough lesson in surrender follows, with Alain deciding that she’ll change places with her rival for a night; Meri will sleep in the maid’s room, while Ella will be with him. Never has Meri been so humiliated!
But it’s more than just domestic issues facing this new Dom/sub marriage. At work, Alain is embroiled in a thorny investigation that comes all too close to home when Meri’s friend Lydia arrives. She brings nothing but trouble, including a scumbag boyfriend who sets his sights on Meri, in a scheme to frighten Alain into dropping his pursuit of a major crime ring. Meri narrowly escapes his clutches, and Alain is forced to send his new bride to a remote hideaway for safekeeping, where she’ll be under the skillful domination of his friend Lawrence Underhill. But even there, the submissive beauty is faced with a shocking challenge when her host falls sick and his sly and alluring nephew takes charge of the household. Meri’s urgent submissive hunger is about to become her undoing. A bdsm romance with punishment and discipline, spanking, a variety of fetish content. Some lesbian D/s.

Meri and Alain Danvers first appeared in the pages of another Dusseau novel, Against Her Will: The Abduction of Kat Bloom. Danvers was (and still is) a police captain, and Meri was his assistant, and slave-by-choice—her choice, initially, and then his. She was not one of your passive, run-of-the-mill little victims, no, not Meri. She was aggressively submissive, with a not very well hidden crush on her boss, and the will and assertiveness to throw herself accurately into his path. Her husband to be simply couldn't resist that.
Honeymoon in Bondage brings these two forward in time and explores the bone and gristle that form the core of any good marriage, especially one that is based on a 24/7 Master/slave lifestyle. Meri is neither experienced nor competent at such things but, as always, she is determined. In this story, Dusseau sets Meri the task of validating the strength of her convictions. And it isn't easy. Danvers has many powerful enemies, some of whom will do anything at all to get to him. Worse yet, friends from the past, both Meri's and Alain's, appear out of nowhere with lies on their tongues, and betrayal in their hearts. Danvers tries to protect his wife, and inadvertently puts her at even greater risk.
Meri finds herself among strangers who demand, but have not earned, her trust. And it is then that she begins to trust herself. She is bound, humiliated, beaten, corseted, tormented and…well, aroused, not to put too fine a point on it…but, through it all, she clings to the one thing that has completed her…the love she has for her husband. And regardless of how she is handled, or by who, no one manages to touch that most important of all places—her heart. No one, that is, but Alain Danvers.
Dusseau's earlier work, which created these characters, is a handy back story for those who have read it. For those who have not, Honeymoon in Bondage stands quite firmly on its own two feet. It is a compelling read. Poking at shadows is what this author does best, bringing light to the dark corners in our minds. Put your sunglasses on, or be prepared for the glare. Either way, you're going to love it.
