Morgan enjoyed her glory days as a high school track star, until her brother’s illness forced her to quit school and take a job as a barmaid. Her dreams seem to be over, but a mysterious stranger offers her a fortune to race for him. However, he’s not interested in a typical track and field competition. He intends to have her trained and groomed as a ponygirl. First she must spend a month in preparation at his ranch, where a lesbian cowgirl and her team of handlers use bondage, corporeal punishment, and sexual seduction to train pony girls for competition. A cold and impersonal doctor, an imperious cowgirl trainer and a stiff punishment await her on the first day! The hard treatment she’ll suffer is only bound to get worse. From the very start, it appears the feisty Morgan is not about to have an easy ride at the Bar-S Ranch.
While Morgan believes she understands the risks involved, and is willing to continue for the money she’ll earn, there are powerful conflicts brewing at the ranch: greed, envy, deception, and betrayal. She will be betting her future and freedom on the outcome of her first race.
A tale of male and female domination of submissive females. Its graphic content features bondage, whipping, torture, anal discipline, humiliation… plus chains, gags, ponycarts, a wicked pillory and plenty of hard sex—lesbian, anal and gang rape included.
"The cowgirl outfit should have tipped her off right away, Morgan realized, but it was too dusty and worn to be mere costume. This cowgirl wasn’t assuming a role just to play the butch. The hand between Morgan’s legs was knowing and skilled in the art of pleasure, but it was a hand callused from the real work of ranching and familiar with the ways of rope and leather. Just looking at her, Morgan sensed that this cowgirl could ride hard, lasso a maverick, or gentle a fractious mount. Morgan knew without having seen it that there would be a bullwhip hanging beside the cowgirl’s bunk."

The Filly by Paul Moore

Coming fresh to Paul Moore’s work I was most impressed by his pony girl story called ‘The Filly.’ Always a popular genre with maledom fans, this is a top drawer example or a thoroughbred if you prefer an equestrian metaphor.
I always believe character motivation is important and the writer is convincing as to why ingénue Morgan Mayfield gets involved. She’s a very attractive girl, by the way.
Morgan had an athletic’s scholarship waiting for her but has dropped out of High School because of her bother’s serious illness and her need to help her mother by earning a wage; she works as a barmaid.
Suddenly, talent scout Brian Boison (a silver medalist in his day) appears offering enough money to meet all her brother’s medical bills if Morgan will spend a month at a pony girl training facility. Morgan is sorely tempted.
After hot sex with Brian in his motel room, she accepts the deal.
The story then follows a familiar pattern of training mixed with lashings of sex—or sexy lashings if you prefer.
There’s plenty of girl on girl action in showers, bedrooms, in the training arena and everywhere you look on the ranch (really a boot camp). There’s plenty of humiliation and exploitation for Morgan and her partner Button at the hands of a well drawn character named Soupcan who has a fondness for anal sex. Here the strict regimen is particularly well described and totally convincing.
Paul Moore is particularly strong on describing the rivalries and jealousies between the girls and the cliques they form, which maintains interest and helps drive the story.
The sexual encounters in all their variety are well written with the writer very adroit at avoiding the familiar traps of erotic writing such as repetition and the use of silly euphemisms on the one hand, and overly crude language on the other. Don’t worry, it’s steamy enough!
Paul Moore has many strengths such as attention to detail and a style that is easy and pleasingly literate.
Highly recommended.
